Great pub atmosphere. Lovely food. Friendly bar staff. What more could you ask from a local pub. I am so lucky to live in this village. Just eaten the best meal in ages and all for less than £12. Locals and visitors are always welcome. I hope you get the chance to experience some time.

A great village pub with terrace and beer garden. Lovely food and decent portions. The staff are very friendly. Dogs are welcome in the bar.

The Fox House

Hathersage Rd, Sheffield S11 7TY, UK – 01433 630374

Rustic pub with restaurant with good food, gluten free is available. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Spacious car park, and plenty of tables outside. You can enjoy your meal whilst also enjoying the wonderful views.

Whilst staying on site for 2 nights we had a lovely evening meal here. The kids had a fantastic flatbread pizza each, best they had had they said. Veggie burger and 3 times cooked chips were great. We all tried out the puddings too. Service prompt and attentive. Breakfasts included with our stay were great too.

Padley Gorge

Padley Gorge Trail, Hope Valley S32 2HY, UK – 07961 974856

After a mind-numbing training session at work, there's nothing better than getting some fresh air outside. This walk is located in the Peak District but is easily accessible from Sheffield. A beautiful mixture of nature and wildlife and a nice relaxing walk suitable even for beginners. Sounds perfect... until you get lost. The last part of this walk involved a drastic detour, jumping off small cliffs, falling into nettles, rolling into the foetal position and crying for help. Barely made it back to the car before sunset and then had to use the stars to navigate home as the mobile reception wasn't cooperating.

If you love the outdoors this is the place to go, beautiful scenery, plenty of places to walk, either through fields or woods, you can even have a paddle in the water,. Beautiful waterfalls, a great place for the family to have a picnic and enjoy a sunny day. But please respect the countryside and take your litter home.
